SURFING FIJI

Tavarua Island and the world famous Cloudbreak, and Restaurants.  An opinion has been raised not to stay at Tavarua Island - the reason being that they claim to have an agreement with the local villagers so they own the exclusive surfing rights of Cloudbreak.   We would like feedback on this opinion.

Good places to stay are Sea Shell Cove Resort on the mainland .  You can arrange to be taken out to all the breaks in that area (they will take you to Cloudbreak, but you might get hassled by the Tavarua crew).    It has been mentioned if you want to stay away from any trouble you can go to other breaks such as Nomotu (mostly left and some rights), Wilkes (right), Desperations (left and right peaks when the swell is small), and many more if you do some searching.

You may try Vanua Levu's Coral Coast.    A beach break and rivermouth of the Sigatoka River.   Often uncrowded .   You can stay at Club Masa.

Hideaways Resort along the east with a break right break just out front. Then there's From Pacific Harbour you can get to Frigates Passage and is similar to Cloudbreak . In the capital city of Suva there's the break known as Lighthouse and mostly rights. There are other breaks near the harbor
