Sand Dredging and Pumping to Continue.

But for the poor residents of Delaware the sand pumping and dredging will continue... on into the 4th of July weekend... one of the prime times for visitors to the shore.   But the sand pumping and dredging is a good thing for Delaware.  You know.. Delaware, that places north of Ocean City where you can't get on 90% of the beach because it is private, restricted access, or as in Fenwick Island, only permitted to park if you live there.
Of course the sand they pump, well, it's not all together sand per se... it ends up being very granular mixed in with  is sort of like very fine dirt.   Go to any beach area where they do not pump sand.. say Cape Hatteras, and you will notice on a windy day the difference in natural sand and pumped dredged sand.  Generally the comments from the dredging companies say: give it a chance in the sun, it will bleach out.  The stuff they want you to bleach out... that's the grime, grudge, tanker oil, pollution, chemical waste, and barn owl poop they call sand.

And what about those poor sea turtles.. you know like the ones that are endangered and have come consistently to the beaches in Ocean City to lay their eggs...  I guess they are just lost or something... because in most areas in Florida... where endangered turtles come to nest, strict environmental closures of beaches are mandated.   So while the dredgers say they have screens to prevent the turtles and other sea life from entering the sucking pumps lines... the possibility of an animal surviving after being bashed against the screens seems highly unlikely.

Acid wasted dumps off the coast, New Jersey Pollution come down the Atlantic drift, tainted water from the Delaware Bay's high phospersous count... all that stuff ends up where they get the sand.   Why... because they can't dredge sand where they test for active sea life.    Simply put, they get the sand from where it is the unhealthiest.

Lot's of sand, bigger beaches.  And the good thing for Delaware, 90% of the public can't use it.  But you paid for it.  Even you in Kansas.    Dorothy, and your little dog too.
