Napster SUCKS!!!! You know, just how befitting that all these Napster'etts want something for free. I guess they will just have to steal their music from the CD's selection the old fashion way and rip and burn their CD's and MP3s from the selections at the library. At least they'll know what a library looks like.. but since there's no MTV at the library they won't stay there long. Everybody wants something for free until they try to make a living at it... Hey - how about all the Ocean City Maryland lawyers give away their services for free. I think that the Ocean City lawyers have been ripping us off for years with their high priced fees. They all have nice houses, fancy and expensive cars, take nice vacations. Why should we have to pay to get represented legally - When you get arrested the police don't send you a bill, but when you go to court the lawyers do, and if the lawyer looses the case, then you get another bill from the court. Napster plainly and blatantly permits stealing of music and property rights of individuals. Until an equitable solution to provide that musicians and artists are compensated... Napster and its spin offs shouldn't be permitted. I do understand that the legal case against Napster has been "resolved" but the threats from spin offs loom on the horizon. Why has Napster become so popular? ONLY because the internet has facilitated the reproduction and transfer of copyrighted material very accommodating. Before Napster, people had to copy to a audio tape their music, and stick a stamp on it to share it with their friends... Now its only a few clicks away and a good internet connection. The idea of having a forum where unknown and known artists can make their music available in an easy to access format is great, but let the artists control what is on the services. It is their property, their equity... We are not a communist state or a socialist society where everybody has the right to own what they want for free. |
