That darn internet thingy... Pornography, Gambling... are the downsides... and what about those search engines...
Its free or its not... whos gonna pay for all those new computers when the old ones wear out in the libraries and schools... every two or three years... Should pornography be accessible at the libraries.. who is watching the children when they are at the libraries...
I go to public libraries all the time... parents dump their kids off their to "play" on the internet... great.. the kids aren't using the computers for research.. their Instant Messaging, playing games from the Nabisco website, and talking about kids that are cool that gave them a beer.. you know.. stuff they can't do at home..
Should people be able to use the computers at schools for business, or the libraries. At many libraries they don't even charge for the paper that people print out on the computers... I see one guy walking out everyday with an inch thick of print outs... Another guy, actually three that Ive observed, are doing their stock market research..... but Ive serious doubts exactly what they are doing conscerning the stock market..
Can people run "Spam" accounts from a computer at the library (the answer is yes).
One lady came and and bought a Saturn car at the library computer.....
I pay for my internet connection.. and my computers. I work darn hard for them... why should people be able to use my tax dollars to "buy" a free computer, and "free" access to the net.. and an access speed thats super duper fast that would cost me over a hundred bucks a month... Well shoot... maybe I should get a tax break because Im not spending the governments money.. well actually its my money, they just steal it from me... |
