I just felt compelled to voice my opinion somewhere regarding the rude and utterly horrible treatment that we recently received at Trattoria Lombardi's Restaurant in the 94th St. shopping center. Below are the details of our recent, AND LAST, visit to Lombardi's.

The first issue was with the host's dissatisfaction with the fact that we had 5 persons in our party. He asked me why 5 and not 4? I found this rather annoying, but dismissed it as kidding.

We were finally seated at a table and our waitress was a very nice young girl who was polite and helpful. That is the last positive comment I can offer about our experience.

We ordered a pizza and a couple of sandwiches. The pizza was adequate at best as it was a bit cold and thin enough to slide through a paper shredder untouched. The sandwiches were ok. We ordered a pitcher of beer that was not very cold and somewhat flat, but we figured it would have to do.

After finishing our meals, we still had about a 1/4 of the pitcher of beer left and about 1/2 of a pitcher of coke that we were still working on. At the sight of just one person finishing eating, a man, whom I assume was either the manager or owner, began to remove the condiments from our table. As each person finished eating, he immediately removed the plate from in front of that person. The kicker was when the very last person finished eating. He not only took their plate, but said to me "I'll take this now" and removed both the pitcher of beer and soda from the table without even giving us a chance to pour the remainder of beer and soda from the pitchers. As he dashed away from the table, I was in total amazement. The next visit to the table was the waitress bringing our check.

I honestly cannot remember ever being treated so rudely as a customer and I am still in disbelief that anyone in business would consider treating a customer this poorly.

I can only say that I will never again, ever patronize Trattoria Lombardi's and hope that anyone reading this message will think twice before doing so.
