Howdie group! What type of paint should I use on my board? I broke it in half real bad, etc, lots of stress cracks, etc and its just really dinged and ugly. I want to paint the entire bottom white. I have heard acrylics.. has anybody ever used the spray can water based paints you can buy at the hardware store? Most good quality latex paints in the ingredients list "acrylic polymer" , is that acceptable? Thanks a bunch group! from "no-wanna-have-so-ugly-a-board-nomore" Rob |

Clipped from a news group.. hope it helps... Don't know about bulk painting, but I just asked around about design drawing on bodyboards. Apparently, the DecoColor brand paint pens are the weapon of choice for aspiring surfboard and bodyboard artists. FWIW, I think the paint is acrylic-based. Will try and buy some next weekend. -- sponge * Sent from RemarQ http://www.remarq.com The Internet's Discussion Network * The fastest and easiest way to search and participate in Usenet - Free! >What type of paint should I use on my board? Krylon works good but the slightest little thing will scratch it. After using Krylon, spray a polyurethane clear protective coat over it. I like to also use oil based paint markers. -- ~ m@r|Howdie group! >What type of paint should I use on my board? Although Mr. Eaton would love to sell me another board... this time has not come. If all else fails... charge forward. Must be put on with an airbrush. Regular spraypaint will scratch and come off. Clean the bottem with acetone and sand with 600 wetsand. Before painting. Scott Shine |
